Melanie Chasteen

Senior Director of Community Engagement

Melanie has more than 20 years of experience in marketing communications and public relations including 16 within non-profit organizations. In her role as Sr. Director of Community Engagement, Melanie identifies, grows, and strengthens relationships in order to raise awareness about the Texas Campaign’s work throughout the state. She also helps execute the organization’s communication strategy, leads a broad range of public relations activities, oversees the annual statewide symposium and regional summits and serves as a key ambassador for the organization. Before joining the Texas Campaign in November 2014, she served as the VP of Marketing and Communications for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas and as Director of Communications for the Center for Child Protection. Melanie earned her Bachelor of Journalism Degree with a focus on Public Relations from The University of Texas at Austin. Born and raised in Blue Bell country – aka Brenham, Texas – Melanie enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons, and her canine daughter, Coco Puff Chasteen.
