TEKs Talk: Next Steps for Districts and Communities Thursday, Sept. 9, 12-1 pm School Districts are preparing to implement the newly adopted minimum curriculum standards that guide sex education in Texas. The Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for Health Education will go into effect in the 2022-23 school. These new standards will bring sex education to all middle school students across the state. Additionally, the new laws passed in the recent Legislative Session make major changes to the sex ed adoption process and to School Health Advisory Councils, or SHACs. Join us for an informal conversation about how the Texas is Ready Coalition can support school districts, SHACs, and communities in implementing 21st Century sex ed.
