We are excited to announce that we hosted 160 youth-serving professionals from South Texas at the 2019 South Texas Adolescent Health Summit in Brownsville, Texas.  The event offered expert speakers on a wide range of topics related to adolescent health, including contraception, mental health, trauma and suicide prevention, reproductive justice, and much more.

In addition, free LARC training was provided to 9 clinicians by Merck (Nexplanon) and the UTRGV Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (IUD)s.

The goal of the Summit was to increase knowledge, skills, and abilities among adults who provide services and support to adolescents on the Texas – Mexico Border about adolescent development, positive youth development, adolescent-friendly services, and how to apply the quality components of care through the stages of adolescence.
