Staff Demographic Survey Policy
Your voluntary responses to the following questions help us to understand and report to our funders and stakeholders on the diverse backgrounds, skills, and experiences that our staff brings to the organization. Your participation and responses will be strictly confidential. No individually identifiable information will be reported, or otherwise shared publicly. You do not have to participate in this survey and – if you do choose to participate – you may skip any question you do not feel comfortable answering and you may exit the survey at any time. Completing the questionnaire should take about 15 minutes.
Your responses will be collected for use to complete demographic surveys required by our funders. Data will only be shared in the aggregate and will be anonymized to our funder audiences. We acknowledge the challenges of collecting and using data, especially as it relates to our personal identities.
Disclaimer: Funders have varying requirements for data collection, from the type of information needed (race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, etc.) as well as the format of data (provide whole numbers versus percentages; adhering to fixed categories based on the census versus flexibility to submit demographic data based on our own data collection). In these scenarios, we may recategorize your answers to the best of our ability within any strict formatting guidelines provided by the funder, e.g., a funder may still use the term Hispanic, but you self-identify as Latinx, the Development team may adapt the categories accordingly. By agreeing to the policy below, you provide informed consent, so that we may report on your demographic data to our funders. It is our intention to represent your identity safely to our funders.
